Katherine Heigl might get kicked off Grey’s Anatomy??

One of my favorite shows is Grey’s Anatomy. Grey’s Anatomy deals with action, drama, and a little romance so I think all of the mix makes me like the show even more. Grey’s Anatomy is a hospital drama that focuses on Meredith Grey, who is one of several first year surgical interns, who she is now a first year resident at Seattle, Washington hospital. Meredith has a hard time maintaining relationships while doing her best at her new job. Meredith tries to live up to the reputation of her legendary surgeon mom.

Katherine Heigl plays Izzie on Grey’s. Izzie tries to hide her past so people don’t judge her for her underwear model past. Izzie became a first year resident at Seattle, Washington hospital like Meredith did. But after Izzie had a little accident with one of her patients she doubted her career. Izzie accident dealt with her fiancĂ© Denny, who later haunts Izzie which causes her problems. Izzie inheriented $8.7 million from Denny so she decided to build a free clinic attached to the hospital. Izzie started to develop a romance with other first year resident, Alex. The last episodes of Grey’s Izzie are diagnosed with metastatic melanoma (Stage IV). She was dealing with this while planning for Meredith’s wedding. It was great seeing Izzie’s determination to give Meredith the best wedding while she was dealing with metastatic melanoma. In the end Meredith surprised Izzie and told her she wasn’t getting married because there was someone else who needed it more. Izzie was the one who ended up getting married to Alex. This showed true love that Alex didn’t care that she was dying or losing hair because all he cared about was that they were together. The sad part about this is that they don’t know if Izzie is going to survive the illness. Izzie is a big part of the show so if she is booted out that would be rough on everyone. Plus, Meredith Heigl didn’t even know this was going to happen and she doesn’t want it to happen because she enjoys playing Izzie.

I am hoping that they don’t kick Izzie off because she is a valuable part to this show. It would be a shocker if she was kicked off the show especially since she didn’t even know about it. This show is such a great show that I would recommend watching it. It brings everything to the couch. So sit back and relax and watch Grey’s Anatomy!!

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past

Romantic, funny, and deals with a life lesson describes the movie Ghost of Girlfriends Past. Watching previews of this movie made me want to go see it, which I did. Knowing that attractive Matthew McConaughey and gorgeous Jennifer Garner were in this movie it definitely made me want to go see this movie even more.

At the beginning of the movie we were introduced to Connor Mead. He is a very successful photographer, who likes to have fun and have many women around him. Mead is not committed to marriage and tends to be looked upon as the evil guy who broke up with three girls at the same time on a conference call.

Mead’s life starts to change on the weekend of his younger brother’s wedding. Mead runs into his lifetime sweetheart, Jenny Perotti. Jenny and Connor have known each other since they were young. When they both came to the teenager years they realized that they might have feelings for each other. Jenny and Connor distanced off for a bit, but later started hanging out with each other. Connor spent the night at Jenny’s place one night, but the next morning when Jenny woke up Connor wasn’t there. This is when Jenny realized that Connor can’t commit so their wonderful relationship didn’t turn out. All of this occurred before they meet up again at Connor’s younger brother’s wedding.

The night before Paul’s wedding, Connor says some things that he shouldn’t have, which leads to a visit by four ghosts. The first ghost Connor meets is his late Uncle Wayne. Paul and Connor’s parents died at a young age so Uncle Wayne had to take care of the boys. Uncle Wayne taught Connor the womanizing ways. He never really gave great advice to Connor. The other three ghosts are ghosts of the past, present, and future. Seeing all that happened during Connor’s life made him think secondly of his actions. He realized that he did some things wrong and now is hoping he can change them. Does Connor ever change and fall back in love with Jenny?

This movie is a great date movie or a girl’s night out movie. The movie keeps audiences going and wanting to know what will happen next. I would recommend this movie to anyone because it teaches a great lesson in the end.

The Best Disney Movies???

The other day at work, my co workers and I started talking about which Disney movies are our favorite? When they asked me which was mine, what first popped in my head was Cinderella. Since they were both guys, they gave me such a hard time saying that every girl would pick Cinderella. This week I decided to pick three of my favorite Disney movies since we had such an intense conversation on it at work.

Like I said earlier, Cinderella is my all time favorite Disney movie. What girl wouldn’t put it on their list? J Cinderella is ordered around by her cruel stepmother and her awful stepsisters. But no matter how her family abuses her and humiliates her, they can’t stop her from dreaming. For dreams are the wishes of Cinderella’s heart and for which she wishes of happiness will come true. When the invitation to the royal ball arrives, Cinderella is sure her time has come, until her evil sisters try to tear her gown apart. Cinderella uses everything short of physical force to persuade her stepmother that she has every right to attend. Cinderella’s determination and ambition just makes this movie one of a kind!

Beauty and the Beast is one of the most romantic Disney movies. I like this movie because it sends across a great message to children of that, “Beauty comes from within.” I think it is important that children know this and know that looks aren’t everything. Bell is a girl who is dissatisfied with life in a small French town. The Beast is a prince who was placed under a spell because he could not love. The only way the spell can be broken is to learn to love one another and earn her love in return before the last petal from his enchanted rose fell, which would bloom until his twenty-first birthday. You will have to watch the movie to see if the last petal falls before they fall in love.

The Lion King triumphs with animation. A young lion prince was born in Africa, thus making his uncle Scar the second in line to the throne. Scar plots with the hyenas to kill King Mufasa and Prince Simba, thus making himself King. The King is killed and Simba is led to believe by Scar that it was his fault and so flees the kingdom in shame. After years of exile he is persuaded to return home to overthrow the usurper and claim the kingdom as his own thus completing the “Circle of Life.” This movie brings a lot of suspense.

All three of these movies teach a very good lesson to children and I think that is why I choose them. Even though there are so many other Disney movies I enjoy watching, I think these three are classics and will never get old. What are your top three favorite Disney movies?

Magazine Cover Grabs People’s Attention

Extra! Extra! Read all about it. Barrack Obama considered a sex symbol? Is this true? Could this be possible? Are people getting out of control when we are looking at Barrack Obama as a sex symbol?

With past presidents America citizens haven’t viewed presidents as sex symbols by looking at a magazine picture of him with his shirt off. The Washingtonian Magazine issue for May is featuring Barrack Obama shirtless in a bathing suit. Do you think this is appropriate?

Barrack Obama is like any other guy, besides he has people following him around and watching his every move. Obama is just a normal guy who, likes to stay fit and health and runs the United States of America.

Washingtonian Magazine is just trying to prove a point that America is trying to become a healthy and fit country. With I head guy being in shape, it makes everyone in America want to do the same. Being healthy helps with making yourself feel good about your body as well as being like Barrack Obama and being able to feel comfortable in a swimming suit.

Washingtonian Magazine is like any other magazine that is trying to grab the audience’s eyes by having covers that grasp your eyes. Since Obama is the President, people want to read more about the magazine when they see him on it (especially if he has his shirt off). Cosmopolitan magazine tries to grab reader’s attention by putting famous actresses on it. People that read Cosmopolitan like to know about what their favorite celebrities are up to. Sports Illustrated magazine covers grab their audience’s attention by putting famous sports stars onto the cover or showing dramatic events that occurred with sports.

All magazines have some way in which they are trying to attract their reader’s attention by just looking at the cover. The saying “don’t judge a book by its cover” is something everyone should go by, but not everyone does. This is why the cover is important to magazine covers. People see a covers that pop out to them, which leads them to reading the magazine even though the inside of the magazine might not be as great as how it looks on the outside. When you pick up a magazine next time, think about why you choose to read that particular one.

Going back to the 80s

Thinking about old television shows always brings a smile to your face. People Wish and hope the shows would come back on. The plus side is that some of the shows still air the old reruns! So even if you never grew up watching the old shows, you can start watching them now and see why everyone else talks about how great they are!

One of my favorite older shows is Saved by the Bell. This show is very entertaining and always brings a good laugh. The show is based off of six individuals who have miss adventures at Bayside High School. The show follows the gang throughout the four years of high school. This show has a later version of it, since Kelly and Jessie decide to leave the show during senior year. So the gang welcomes Tori Scott, Zach’s new girlfriend. The show closes with the separation of the graduating class of Bayside High School. The show then continues to Saved by the Bell, The College Years.

Growing Pains is another really good show aired in the 80s. The parents Dr. Seaver and Maggie Seaver, try their best in raising their family although their kids cause them endless problems, but they still manage to keep the family close together. Most of the story lines based around standard family issues, though there was time to explore serious topics such as vandalism, gangs and drug use. In the end the kids grow up to successful people and everything turns out great!

Family Matters always brought a thrill to your household. The Winslows of Chicago are a typical family, who is a big family that all live under the same roof. The family always gets regular visits from a neighborly nerd, Steve Urkel. The outrageousness of Urkel made people tune into the show. The show lasted a long time because it is not only funny, but it also delivers valuable messages on such issues as family, education, Black pride, respect, and the importance of being responsible.

These three shows bring variety to television. Lucky for us these three shows still air reruns on television today. So take a day to watch the three best 80s shows!!

Old School Nickelodeon Shows

We all remember the television shows we used to watch when we were younger. Some of them remind of as a good show while others were not the best, but we still would watch them. Nickelodeon would have some really good shows that would air. The shows I am going to mention will bring back some memories and hopefully they are good memories. It is a great comedian show that would always give you a good laugh.

CatDog is a perfect example of felines and canines. This show is so different, but yet makes people laugh. Many relationship lessons are demonstrated through CatDog about getting a long together. The show is packed full of pop culture and social satire humor.

The Wild Thornberrys is a unique show. Eliza Thornberry is not your ordinary kid because she travels the world in an RV with her parents. Eliza is doubly unique because she was granted the magical ability to talk with and understanding animals. Eliza gets involved with much different wild life.

The Angry Beavers is about two beavers named Norbert (the smart one) and Daggett (the stupid one), live at the lake. The two beavers have to deal with wacko government scientists.
Doug!

Rocko’s Modern Life plot follows a life of a wallaby that has immigrated to America from Australia. In America, he faced many challenges and his friend’s are trying to help Rocko fit in.

Orange soda is most common saying in the show Kenan and Kel. I remember when Kel would always want to drink orange soda. The show is centered on two teenagers. Kenan is a high school student with a job at the grocery store, while Kel is a clumsy, orange soda loving best friend.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBwxRo8d8P8

All these shows bring back good memories! It would be nice to have these shows come back on air, but least Nickelodeon keeps coming out with more shows that can top these shows. What will Nickelodeon come out with next?

History of Children’s Shows

Children spend much of their free time watching television and having contact with television influences the way children perceive the world around them. The United States debates whether program content is appropriate or not and also how television influences a child’s attitude, knowledge, and behavior. Television has changed throughout the years starting in 1950s to present day.

In the 1950s, children’s shows were beneficially in bringing the family together. Most of children’s shows were broadcasted during the afternoon and evening. But during the mid-1950s programs had aired Saturday morning. This started One Saturday morning shows, which still are on today.

The 1960s started animation shows. In the 1960s they reduced costs which led to limited action animation techniques. This cleared the appeal of cartoons to children, changed scheduling of programs, and the change of Saturday morning cartoons became complete. Some popular animated shows of the 1960s were The Flinstones, The Jetsons, Bullwinkle, and Space Ghost.

The 1970s have been considered as a video mosaic in which shows incorporated a number of segments under regular shows. Some of the shows were The New Super Friends Hour or Scooby Laff-a-Lympics. These helped with shows to increase audience flow across the entire morning.

In the 1980s children’s shows were influenced by the “television revolution” as the growth of cable and VCR began to erode audiences. Cartoons remained important, but live action shows began to increase. Cable networks such as Nickelodeon and Disney, devoted mostly to children. Other cable networks such as Discovery, Learning Channel, USA, TBS, the Family Channel, and Lifetime grew in having more shows that were programmed towards children. They produced live action shows, which included game shows, puppet shows, magazine format news and variety programs, as well as live action drama adventures shows.

The Children’s Television Act was influenced in the 1990s. This was because the educational shows were joining available programming. Since the 1990s, eight of the nine Peabody Awards for children’s programs were for informational or educational programs.

As the years have passed, people can see the change and growth of children’s shows. Children’s shows have improved and have become educational as well as teaching healthy ways to live a better life.
